Notes Induces cell death in HeLa line at micromolar concentrations (Esmaeili et al., 2016). [Control data not reported]. Apoptotic markers (chromatin condensation, DNA fragmentation, phosphatidyl serine exposure, loss of mitochondrial membrane potential). Mitochondrial (intrinsic) apoptotic pathway implicated. Fibroblast cell line was less susceptible to cell death when treated with this peptide. Can be extracted from plant material by microwave-assisted extraction, less efficient than maceration. (Farhadpour et al., 2016). Linear form identified in Viola tricolor extract. (Hellinger et al., 2015)
